Technical Tour
AIST
December 2, 2024, 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM.
The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, one of the largest public research organizations in Japan, focuses on the creation and practical realization of technologies useful to Japanese industry and society, and on “bridging” the gap between innovative technological seeds and commercialization. This time, we will present four demonstrations from the Human Informatics and Interaction Research Institute (HIIRI), which promotes research and development focused on understanding people and the interactions between people and various factors. The demonstrations include:
- Driving simulator for evaluation of drivers’ mental and physical states and operation al behaviors
- Measuring concentration and effort through brainwave activity
- Brainwave Measurement Technology for Sensory Processing in VR
- Panoramic audio: Reproducing remote spatial acoustics using a multi-speaker system
University of Tsukuba
December 3, 2024, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM.
The Institute of Systems and Information Engineering at the University of Tsukuba is dedicated to advancing research in human-centered systems, with a focus on enhancing everyday interactions through technology. This tour will highlight innovations that integrate mixed reality (MR), virtual reality (VR), and advanced assistive technologies to improve skill development, mobility, and behavioral analysis. Technical demonstrations include:
- FUTUREGYM® Constellation Game
- MR Training System for Combination Tactics in Basketball
- Innovations in Mobility Assistance
- Behavior Analysis and Skill Training through VR Simulation
